The Barbarian Carousel of Quads

Reaction Sequence · Mechanism

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the most unnecessarily heroic exercise in existence. You pick up a massive implement using a Zurcher grip — which means you cradle it in the crook of your elbow like you're carrying a sleeping toddler, except this toddler weighs as much as a small refrigerator and wants nothing more than to ruin your day.

You hold the thing by your wrist, trying to keep the weight off your forearms because apparently that's a thing that matters in strongman circles. You lift it off the floor, stand tall like you're about to address your troops before battle, and then you WALK. Not forward, not backward — you walk in CIRCLES. Like a barbarian on a carousel. Like Conan the Barbarian got stuck on a merry-go-round and decided to just own it.

Short, quick steps. Head up. Eyes looking away like you're too cool to acknowledge the suffering. You spin in a full circle, then maybe another one if your legs haven't filed for divorce yet. Don't hold your breath — you're going to need oxygen for this cardiovascular nightmare disguised as a strength exercise.

This intermediate strongman event is an absolute quad destroyer that also torches your core, your back, and your will to live. It's weird, it's wonderful, and it'll make you feel like a warrior from an ancient civilization who got lost at a theme park.
