Okay, this one is for all my people who look at two dumbbells and think, "That's too many decisions, I just want ONE heavy thing to deal with." You grab a single dumbbell, stand it upright on a flat bench like a little tower of terror, and then arrange your body in the most awkward position imaginable — perpendicular to the bench, shoulders on the surface, hips underneath, legs bent like you're hiding under a desk during an earthquake drill.
You cup that dumbbell with both hands, palms pressing against the inner sides of the weight like you're holding a giant sandwich you're terrified of dropping. Extend your arms straight over your chest and congratulations — you're in the starting position of what looks like a circus act but feels like a triceps trial by fire.
Lower that weight down toward your chest with control, feeling every single triceps fiber wake up and immediately regret being alive. Then extend your elbows to push it back to the top. That's it. That's the whole move. Simple? Yes. Easy? Absolutely not. Your triceps will be shaking like a chihuahua in a snowstorm by rep eight.
This exercise is perfect for beginners who want to torch their triceps without the complexity of managing two weights at once. It's straightforward, effective, and humbling all at the same time. Welcome to the one-bell wonder club.
