Tilted Pelvis Skyrocket (Incline Leg Lift Core Blast)
Reaction Sequence · Mechanism
Most ab exercises have you lifting your upper body toward your legs, but this one flips the script entirely. You lie on an incline bench, grab the top for dear life, and use your lower abs to hoist your legs skyward like you are trying to launch your feet into orbit. It is humbling, effective, and slightly awkward in the best possible way.
Position yourself face-up on an incline bench and grip the top edge with both hands like you are holding onto a roller coaster safety bar — because honestly, that is what this is about to feel like. Extend your legs out parallel to the floor with a soft bend in the knees, feet and legs glued together. Do not let your body slide down the bench, or the whole thing turns into a very sad slide.
Now here is the move: exhale and draw your knees toward your chest by rolling your pelvis backward and lifting your hips clean off the bench. Your knees should travel all the way up until they touch your chest, and your lower abs should feel like they are being paid overtime. This is not a leg raise — it is a pelvic curl, and the distinction matters enormously.
Hold the top position for a second while your lower abs scream for mercy, then slowly lower your legs back to the starting position as you inhale. The incline makes the lowering phase especially challenging because gravity is working against you the entire time. This exercise targets the often-neglected lower portion of your abdominals with surgical precision, and if you do enough reps, you might finally develop that lower ab definition that has been hiding behind your belly button like a shy roommate.
